The Triton range includes several cab chassis grades, and their published kerb weights are pre-tray. Fitting an alloy tray typically costs 150kg or more of the payload the spec sheet promises.
Mitsubishi publishes a rear axle rating for the Triton, so a rear-heavy build can be checked rather than guessed. The rear axle usually becomes the binding limit before GVM does on a fully fitted tourer.
350kg is the maximum download and about what a large van delivers. On the reduced-GVM spec that single number is a much bigger share of what you are allowed to carry.
This is the one to get right. Mitsubishi sells these grades in a 1.0 tonne payload configuration and in a reduced 0.9 tonne GVM and tow configuration. Same badge, same kerb weight, different legal limits. The variants are listed separately in the table above, and picking the wrong one makes every number on the page wrong for your vehicle.
The Triton's combined limit is among the best here, which means towing costs you less payload than on most rivals. It does not mean you can ignore the sums, because tow ball weight still lands in the ute.

Around 6.2 tonnes on the current range, which is high for the class. It still caps the ute and trailer together, so towing at the maximum reduces what you can carry.
