Every mass figure on this site is transcribed by hand from the vehicle manufacturer's own published spec sheet or brochure. Each row carries a link to that source and the date we last checked it.
We do not estimate a mass figure. If a manufacturer does not publish a number, the field reads "Not published" and stays blank. That is deliberate. Other tools fill those gaps with modelled or representative values, which looks more complete and is worth less: you cannot take an estimated GVM to an engineer, and you should not plan a build around one.
We currently publish 403 variants across 15 model lines. Coverage by field:
| Kerb weight | 401 of 403 |
| GVM | 403 of 403 |
| GCM | 382 of 403 |
| Braked towing | 403 of 403 |
| Rear axle rating | 241 of 403 |
| Front axle rating | 96 of 403 |
| Tow ball maximum | 191 of 403 |
| Roof load rating | 38 of 403 |
Roof load rating is the biggest gap, and it is not an oversight on our part — most manufacturers simply never publish it. Ford, for one, publishes neither a tow ball rating nor a roof rating anywhere in its Ranger specifications.
Manufacturers revise these figures at model-year updates, usually quietly. We re-check the range on a schedule, and when a figure changes we archive the old row rather than overwrite it, dated, so anyone who planned a build on last year's numbers can still see what was published at the time.
If a figure here disagrees with your compliance plate or your weighbridge ticket, the plate wins. Let us know and we'll re-check against the source.
